Advocacy

NAfME 2023 Hill Day For Music Education

At NAfME’s National Leadership Assembly every June, NMEA members travel to D.C. to meet with Nevada’s Representatives in Congress to advocate for music education in Nevada. NAfME is working hard to provide opportunities for MEA’s to meet with their representatives and share information on how to ensure all students can have music as a part of their education.

Music is What's Cool at School

Nevada All-State Music Festival Makes the News

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS Channel 8 ) – There’s no need to jazz it up. It’s pretty swingin’ all on its own!

Over a three day period at the beginning of the month, the Nevada Music Educators Association hosted upwards of a thousand middle and high school students from 45 middle schools and 53 high schools for this year’s All-State Festival. From workshops and rehearsals with leaders in their field at various schools, the bigger groups needed bigger rooms, including UNLV, Central Church in Henderson and the Las Vegas Academy.
